The Iranian government defends the honor of Carla Bruni

Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the publication in the daily newspaper Kayhan, in which the first lady of France Carla Bruni, has been named as a prostitute. According to Fox News, in an official statement emphasized that the Iranian government has no relation to abusing Nicolas Sarkozy’s spouses.
The newspaper Kayhan, one of the most conservative Iranian publications, named Carla Bruni, a prostitute in a submission dated 29 August – shortly after the first lady had signed a petition in defense of 43-year Sakine Ashtiany (Sakineh Ashtiani), mother of two children, sentenced to death by stoning for adultery.

According to Reuters, Aug. 31 newspaper repeated its statement, adding that Carla Bruni for her life relies same fate as the Ashtiany – shameful death by stoning.

Sakine Ashtiany was sentenced to death in 2006. In addition to adultery, the woman accused of involvement in the murder of her husband. Ashtiany pled guilty, but its advocates maintain that the recognition she gave under torture. Lawyers, women have managed to attract international attention to her case, after which a number of countries condemned the actions of the Iranian justice, and some states have offered Ashtiany political asylum.

As a result of execution Ashtiany was postponed, officials ordered her case be reopened. After hearing the sentence can be confirmed.
