FBI found 400 Thai illegals on U.S farms.
The judicial authorities in Honolulu, Hawaii charged six people who suspected that illegally brought into the United States about 400 Thai nationals. As stated in the report of the Ministry of Justice of the United States, the Thais were lured to the country with promises high-paying jobs, and then passports were taken away, forced to work in farms in Washington state and Hawaii.
According to investigators, who conducted the FBI, 400 people have been brought from Thailand, from May 2004 to September 2005. Investigators found that the Thais tried to extort large sums of money, explaining that the need to pay for a work permit. It is noted that many of the victims had to ask to get into debt at home, to pay a “fee”.
In organizing a criminal scheme suspected three members of the Los Angeles company Global Horizons Manpower Inc., A citizen of Israel and two Thais, involved in hiring workers.
Appeared in the case facing from five to 70 years imprisonment, depending on the role that they had played in organizing the crime.
It is noted that one of the accused Thais are currently under investigation at home: there he is charged with several episodes of fraud.

This is the first version I’ve read of this story that doesn’t mention the group that made it possible for the Thai people to illegally enter the United States. .These people, and many others whose stories go unaccounted for, are enticed into illegal US immigration from Thailandbecause they are promised opportunities that are unavailable in Thailand. Once they are in the United States, they find themselves in a predicament wherein the promises are empty. At this point, they don’t have much of a choice but to resort to illegal means to get themselves out of this bad situation. I certainly think that many people who are persuaded to come to the US illegally know that they are being lied to, but what about the people that really think they will obtain work permits and go on to become legal residents? I think that the Thais mentioned in this article are victims and shouldn’t be punished for trying to find a way to legally stay in the US. I suppose I agree that desperate times call for desperate measures. Where should the line be drawn and who should take the blame for illegal immigration?
