Bin Laden’s Companion sentenced life imprisonment
In U.S, Mamdouh Mahmud Salim a former associate of Osama bin Laden was sentenced life imprisonment. He was charged with attempted murder of Louis Pepe one of the guards from New York’s city jail, Louis Pepe, lost his eye and received brain damage after Salim stabbed him sharpened comb.
According to the court, Salim will also have to pay a guard to 4.72 million dollars in damages and medical expenses.
A native of Sudan, Mamdouh Mahmud Salim was arrested in 1998 in Germany and extradited to the United States. U.S. authorities suspected him of involvement in the preparation and implementation at the same time the attacks in Kenya and Tanzania, killing over 200 people.
The incident with the guard occurred in 2000, when Salim was expecting the trial. In 2004, in the case of an attack, he was sentenced to 32 years in prison, but the 2008 conviction was overturned because the prosecution insisted on the fact that the count of Salima part of a terrorist conspiracy to commit hostage taking and escape from prison.
