The Muslim Brotherhood has opened “Islamic Facebook”
Egyptian opposition movement the Muslim Brotherhood has launched its own Islamic social network Ikhwanbook, very similar to Facebook.
Ikhwanbook differ by more stringent rules regarding the use of photographs and intrusions into the privacy of users. The network is designed, in particular, for those Muslims who do not like the liberal rules of Facebook, allowing, for example, the publication of options for anti-Islamic sites.
The activities of the Muslim Brotherhood, banned in Egypt. The new social network will become one of the few ways to disseminate information about the company, as the Muslim Brotherhood is forbidden to have their own TV or publish a newspaper.

However, some Muslims have criticised Facebook for not shutting down anti-Islamic sites, not to mention their unease about the more liberal attitudes and opinions that can be exchanged on Facebook.
Because the group is banned, some members have concerns that the government will identify them through their membership of Ikhwanbook.
So far the site has only been operating on a trial basis for a few months, but the organisers say there will be a full launch at a later date, when they expect the number of members to increase
