Rima Faqih says ‘I’m Not a Stripper’(VIDEO)
Just because a girl is dancing around the pole, it does not mean that she is a stripper. Said Rima Faqih, the new Miss USA 2010.
Minor scandal exploded over the Faqih’s picture, which shows young women dance in front of stripper pole. She said that it is part of the radio promotion, and she never shed clothes as part of this event.
“I was just being silly and jumped up there, and there were a few pictures taken,” Faqih said. “I know it looks really a negative, but it is not quite what you saw. I have not done anything wrong.
Rima was born in Lebanon. Despite the fact that her parents are Muslim, studied in a Catholic school in New York. The family decided to celebrate both Muslim and Christian key holidays. The also press noted that the Faqih became the first American of Arab descent and the first Muslim woman, won the crown of Miss USA.
In 2003 Rima with her parents moved toDearborn, but now she has to spend 12 months in New York, not only performing “royal” duties, but also studying at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts.
Note that Dearborn is the most populated Arab- American cities: immigrants from Arab countries account for 30% of its population. Dearborn settled community of many thousands of Lebanese immigrants.
