FIFA estimated revenues from the World Cup 2010
According to estimates of the International Association Football (FIFA), the net profit from the 2010 World Cup, which will be held in South Africa, can reach billions of dollars.
FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valka (Jerome Valcke) reported that the sale of rights to broadcast the matches and sponsors of the association will receive a total of about 3,3 billion dollars profit.
Of this amount, at the FIFA 1,2 billion will be spent on the organization of competitions in South Africa. In addition, the association has contributed one billion in financial assistance to state organizations involved in the preparation of the World Cup.
FIFA will have one billion dollars, but, according to Valka, it is too early to call a profit. The money will go into a reserve fund that can be used in case of unforeseen financial costs.
FIFA World Cup 2010 will take place in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July. Valka said ascertained in full readiness of South Africa to the World Cup just three months ago.
