Trains of Moscow Metro explode using RDX

Moscow subway trains in the morning on March 29 were blown up using RDX, said the head of the FSB, Alexander Bortnikov. According to him, the power of the bomb, contained in the action at the station “Lubyanka, the Moscow subway, was about 4 kilograms of TNT. In “Park Kultury”, radial worked with striking elements explosive power of about 1,5-2 kilograms of TNT, ITAR-TASS.

Both the explosion in the Moscow metro occurred in the morning rush hour at the busiest stations Sokol’nicheskaya branches. The first bomb worked at 07:56 on “Lubyanka”, the second – at 08:39 at the “Park Kultury”. Both explosions were sealed for outdoor surveillance cameras, records transferred to the investigators.

According to the preliminary version, carried out suicide bombings. In the blown-up cars were found fragments of bodies of alleged terrorists. In the UPC said that those bombers survived, thanks to which their identity will be possible to install.

The victims of terrorist attacks, according to specified data MOE, were 37 passengers. Wounds of varying severity were 65 people.

With the help of RDX in Russia have been carried out several terrorist attacks, the responsibility for which was blamed on Chechen militants. Thus, based on RDX bombs were detonated apartment buildings in Moscow in 1999, bombings of Tu-134 and Tu-154 in 2004 and several others.
