Google won the case against the manufacturer of Dior and Kenzo
Search engine Google has won the European Court trial lasting several years with the French luxury goods manufacturer LVMH. The decision was rendered by the court on March 23, reports the Associated Press.
According to the court decision, Google did not violate the exclusive rights of producers of luxury brands, using brand names as keywords, search for. The representatives of LVMH, the owner of such brands as Dior, Louis Vuitton, Moet & Chandon, Kenzo, pointed out that in this case, the holder of trade marks may be harmed.
The court took into account the arguments of LVMH and decided that the holding company can still claim compensation from Google in a French court, if it can prove that the use of a brand in search engine queries, has caused harm to the original brand.
Holding LVMH began the prosecution of the Google-owned search engine advertising system, AdWords. When prompted, key words, which can act as a brand name, a search engine displays your ad pay for the services firms.
