Shan White Vancouver 2010 Video
Shaun White is tearing it up at the Vancouver Olympics, as expected. He’s already won two gold medals during his career, one in 2006 and one this year in the men’s halfpipe. His gold medal run last week included the Double McTwist 1260, or as Shaun calls it, the Tomahawk.

He’s been developing it on his private halfpipe in Colorado built into the side of a 12,000-foot mountain and accessible only by helicopter or snowmobile. It’s a dangerous trick and during his first run, White played it safe and decided not to break out the biggest trick in snowboarding.
That appeared to be a wise move as so many other competitors took spills on the halfpipe. But with victory already secured, White talked about his second run with his coach before launching down the pipe for a victory lap that will go down in Olympic history. That’s because at the end of his run, after losing momentum and seemingly going too slow to land it, White launched himself into the McTwist 1260 and landed it.
