Britain prepares for battle against Argentina

In the UK, seriously discussed the possibility of the recurrence of military conflict between Britain and Argentina over the Falkland Islands. Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Gordon Brown on Feb. 18 said the country “has taken all necessary measures to protect their ships” in the disputed territory in the Atlantic Ocean.
The British tabloid The Sun reported the Navy even though the Navy countries are ready to send to the Falkland Islands, three warships. The MoD has denied this information – in the disputed territories in the country already have a remedy. This destroyer York, patrol ship Clyde, as well as combat support ship Wave Ruler. Also on the islands themselves are serving about 1 thousand British soldiers.
 
The conflict between London and Buenos Aires began in the early weeks, when the coast of Scotland to the Falkland Islands went to the drilling rig Ocean Guardian. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Vittorio Tachchetti said that the country will take adequate measures to prevent the Geological Survey of the Territories.

On Tuesday, President Cristina Kirchner of Argentina approved a new law under which any ship going to the Falkland Islands through its territorial waters, must obtain special permission of the Government. Buenos Aires considers the island as its territory. London does not agree.

In 1982, because of the Falkland Islands between the two countries there was a military conflict. Argentina briefly ousted Britain from these areas. After London organized response operations, re-taking possession of the islands. The fighting killed 649 Argentines and 255 Britons.

In  interview with British radio Brown did not rule out military action, though carefully avoided talk about a potential battle. “I do not want to make any statements that may or may not happen, – said British Prime Minister, replying to a question on a direct collision .- Crude oil we need for the future. And we are fully entitled to exercise it. I think the Argentines really understand it. ” Brown also added that the current political situation is different from the conditions in 1982
