United States is spending 2.7 billion dollars to fight AIDS in Kenya
United States on Wednesday decided to allocate 2.7 billion dollars to fight HIV in Kenya, where more than one million people are infected with human immunodeficiency virus.
It is the largest sum allocated under the program of financial assistance aimed at combating a disease. Allocation of money to be spent over the next five years, increased funding for programs to combat HIV in Kenya by 112 per cent.
U.S. Ambassador Michael Ranneberger (Michael Ranneberger) said that the agreement in Nairobi indicates that the Kenyan Government will increase the budget to combat AIDS by 10 percent annually.
Kenyan Finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta (Uhuru Kenyatta) said that the negative impact of HIV and AIDS on the Kenyan economy is very noticeable, because of HIV / AIDS, labor productivity is greatly reduced.
