Obama congratulated everyone who celebrates Hanukkah

U.S. President Barack Obama has congratulated all the people on earth who celebrates Hanukkah.

“Michelle and I send best wishes to all who observes Hanukkah around the world” – the press office of the White House quoted the U.S. leader.

According to Obama, “Hanukkah – not only the celebration of faith and customs of the Jewish people, but people of all faiths, to pay tribute to the common aspirations shared by us.”

As you know, today, 11 December, with the onset of darkness began one of the most important Jewish holidays – Chanukah. He will celebrate the eight days – until 19 December.

At Hanukkah decided to give some money to children, taught them to share with those who need it. In this festival the Jews eat fried in butter cakes and donuts.

Chanukah – an open celebration, and it is attended by representatives of other nations. In 2003, the Chanukah candles were lit for the first time, even in the Vatican.
