Google will limit the access of free information
World’s largest Internet search engine Google will restrict the free web news, access to which was previously possible using the First Click Free reported on a company’s blog.
One of the reasons run First Click Free in October, Google calls the fact that “the creation of high quality information materials is a difficult and often costly.”
It was assumed that the first user clicks on a Google search found the material to give him access to its full content, but publishers are applying First Click Free, can block access to other sections and pages of the site.
“While we are pleased that many publishers are already using First Click Free, we found that some of those who are willing to try this program is concerned with regard to persons violating the spirit of the First Click Free, to get access to virtually all of the material site, “- said in a statement Google.
“We decided to allow publishers to limit the number of access under the First Click Free up to five free access per day per user”, – said Google.
Media point out that the decision followed Google almost simultaneously with the threat of media tycoon Rupert Murdoch’s strip search engine and other major Internet resources indexing capabilities of its own publications, among which, inter alia, the newspaper Times, Wall Street Journal.
Murdoch criticized Google for “stealing” material without any compensation from the receipt of advertising revenue.
According to some reports, Murdoch held talks with Microsoft, to make the materials belonging to his media companies News Corp. available exclusively through Bing – new search engine giant’s software.
Earlier, Murdoch announced its intention to make paid content web sites of all of its own media.
