24 thousand objects of cultural heritage destroyed in China for 3 years
Nearly 24 thousand objects of cultural heritage “have fallen victim to” the construction of infrastructure in China over the past three years, wrote Tuesday edition of “China Daily”.
“During the construction of roads and tanks during this period destroyed 23 thousand 600 historical monuments,” – the newspaper quotes the report of the PRC State Administration for Cultural Heritage.
One of the drafters of the report acknowledged that “many historical monuments will have to give way to economic development. According to him, many cultural heritage sites are, in particular, are lost when creating reservoirs for the world’s largest hydroelectric power station “Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River.
