Moscow promises sell missiles to Iran

Iranian ambassador in Moscow, Said Mahmoud Reza Sajjad said that Russia’s representatives denied the reports of refusal to put Iran modernized anti-aircraft missile system (ZRS) C-300. Sajjad confirmed the delay in the delivery of missile systems, but noted that the Russians would explain the situation encountered technical problems and promises to remove them within one to two months.

The contract for the sale of Russian air defense missile systems to Iran was signed several years ago, but the delivery time it had not been identified. Earlier this week, one of the commanders of the Iranian Sun, Brigadier General Mohammad Hassan Mansurian accused Moscow of refusing to fulfill obligations under the contract under pressure from Israel and the United States.

S-300 can shoot down planes and missiles at high altitude and have a range of up to 150 km. Iran is currently conducting air defense exercises in order to perfect reflection of attacks on its nuclear facilities.
